Julie Rice joined RxTrials in September 2010, serving first as Recruitment Coordinator and then, in February 2011, taking the position of Site Manager for Columbia Medical Practice, an RxTrials Partner Site. In this role, Julie oversees all day-to-day operations of the site, including business development, study feasibility, budgeting and planning, recruitment planning, and training and documentation. She also is responsible for consenting patients for study participation and serving as study coordinator when needed.
A registered nurse with a BSN from Towson State University, Julie has a varied background that includes positions in professional sales and education with a pharmaceutical firm and clinical laboratory. Her nursing experience involved direct patient care in a medical-surgical unit and in a medical office setting. She also has volunteered as a nurse resource for school-based outdoor education programs and coached youth soccer.
